At Guemes History Project, our mission is to conserve the collection of the former Guemes Island Historical Society and further its work. We are a committee of the Guemes Island Library, and welcome volunteer help.
We have digitized the analog media collection and made it available online, as well as scanning many unique photos and documents. Click below to view our digital galleries.

Our vision at Guemes History Project is to pick up where the former Historical Society left off and fulfill their dream. It's an historic endeavor! We have a collection to inventory and conserve, assets to manage and a physical site to create. We began our efforts after the Historical Society was closed with the passing of its founding leaders, and we thank the Guemes Island Library which took on the 501(c)3 fiduciary role. As a committee of the Library, we now have weekly meetings and are bringing in volunteers.
